Triumphant Cross Youth Ministry

TY - Triumphant Cross Youth Ministry brings youth in grades 6-12 closer to Jesus Christ through fun activities, fellowship with one another, and developing relationships with caring adults. The program is coordinated by volunteer youth director Tracy Jahrling (898-6655). She is assisted by the Youth Resource Group: parents and other adults who help out and serve as adult advisors on youth trips.

THE GOAL OF THE Triumphant Cross YOUTH MINISTRY: Students grow as disciples of Jesus Christ through many varied activities. Youth can attend one, two, or as many youth events as their schedules allow.

Youth discussions occur every Sunday morning at 10:15am, called "Fellowcation" for Fellowship and Education. Twice a month, youth come to Sunday evening Youth Gatherings 5:00-7:30pm, sharing dinner, catching up with each other, doing fun activities, and sharing some God time. About 8 overnight events take place per year, such as the Youth Quake retreat for middle schoolers, Youth Construction Zone retreat for senior high, the annual ski trip, a lock-in at Hampshire Hills with other churches, and more. Our youth also participate in community service. They serve in TCLC's food pantry, bell choir, and vocal choir. They have packed food for Feed My Starving Children, decorated placements for state prison residents, and written to soldiers in Iraq during weekend retreats. They traveled to Pennsylvania to help repair homes and lead collections for World Hunger here at home. Youth also raised funds for hunger by walking in the local Crop Walk.
